About Choices

Project Description / Intent Statement

"Choices" is a film created by Media Studies & Production students at Temple University. We chose to select and re-write the original "Good Hard Choices" script, to illustrate the struggle of being a young person making adult decisions. The film touches on the idea of intentions, and the uncomfortable "unknown" of being a young adult. This project reflects on a social issues that is all too common and hardly talked about.

Jackie Minnis

Producer & Project Coordinator | Jackie is currently a second-year Media Studies and Production graduate student at Temple University. After earning her B.A. in journalism back in 2019, she went back to school to focus more on the production side of the media business. Jackie is an advocate for diverse representation in the media and has hopes to become a television and film producer in the future. Along with filming this project, she is currently working on a documentary short showcasing the impact American/Western media has had on adopted Chinese Asian Americans. When she’s not working towards her master’s degree, Jackie enjoys snowboarding, gymnastics, reading, writing, and spending time with family and friends.

Josh Kelly

Producer & Audio | Josh Kelly is a writer, audio producer and woodworker. When he’s not broadcasting on the radio or publishing episodes of his podcast, he likes to drink tea and read books with his cats.

Kiana-Alexis Salley

Producer & Cameraman | Kiana-Alexis Salley, KAS, is a graduate student working towards a Masters degree in Media Studies and Production. She completed her Bachelors degree at Hampton University where she majored in Journalism, and has managed to create her own photography and social media management business.

Tosin Sanni

Producer & Director | Tosin is an award winning filmmaker and content creator. She has built her career in the film/media industry over the years creating media content for companies, writing, directing and producing commercials, films and consulting for companies and filmmakers in Nigeria. She also works with Motion Pictures International, a company that organizes a touring film festival every year.
Tosin holds a bachelor degree in International Relations, but has always had interest in the film and media industry. In 2017, she co-wrote, directed and produced her first short film project Drowning about verbal abuse, a prominent social issue that is rarely discussed, to make an impact in her society. Since then she has been involved in various film and media projects. She is also a volunteer in organizations like Arm the child Foundation and Plan International Nigeria, giving back to her society.
She is currently in Temple University doing a Masters program in Communication for development and social change.

Devyn Keane

Producer | Devyn Sierra Keane is a senior Media Studies & Production major at Temple University. Choices is the second short film Devyn has produced but the first she has acted in. In Fall 2020, Devyn co-produced a short film documentary about SEPTA and its impact on the Philadelphia community. Aside from producing short films, Devyn has taken on the role of Assistant Producer for newscasts Temple Update, Lo Último, and Update Ahora. She is also a Production Assistant at NBC10 and Telemundo62. In Spring 2021, Devyn won 3rd place in the Best News Package category at the Temple Media Studies & Production Awards. After graduation, she plans to go into TV news producing.

Julie Fosco

Producer | Julie is a senior at Temple University majoring in Advertising and Media Studies & Production, graduating in May 2022. Outside of school, Julie likes to pretend she knows a lot about movies. She also loves comedy, art, music, video-essays, and poetry.
