Character Descriptions
BETH
Beth is a young woman with aspiring dreams of becoming a big-time casting director. While she works towards her master's degree, she applies to a casting assistant job in sunny LA, California which forces her to make a life-changing decision. Beth is known for being determined, headstrong, and competent who is also fun and loving who would do anything for her family and friends.
ERIC
Eric is Beth's partner of 5+ years. Over the years of their relationship, he has become a tired and overworked civil engineer who always has too much work on his plate. He plays off charismatic however has a conflicting demeanor and is controlling in every aspect of his life including his relationship with Beth.
CAROLINE
Caroline is Eric's younger sister and is always on the go. She has a fast-paced, spunky, and free-spirited personality and is everything that Eric is not. Although, both have similar defensive traits from being two siblings who grew up together. Caroline assumes that she's the least favorite child in the family but still tries her best to check in on the family through Eric.
JOANNE
Joanne is Beth's loving mother who is always looking out for the wellbeing of her daughter. Joanne writes for HG magazine and is kind, caring, understanding, and wise beyond her years. She never misses the opportunity to joke around with her daughter and is always worried about Beth not being in enough contact with her family. Beth confides in her mother about the LA job and her relationship status and is met with insightful motherly advice.
JAYCE
Jayce is another of Eric's close friends. Jayce tends to stay quiet when engaged in conversations. However, he's a great listener, very perceptive, and is a reassuring friend. He's a ride-or-die friend who will stick by a friend's actions and decisions no matter the circumstance.
DEBBIE
Debbie is an intern at the local community theater office and is Beth's coworker, friend, and confidant. Debbie is a straightforward, self-confident woman with hopes of one day becoming an actress. She is very glamorous and is a positive friend of Beth's. Debbie helps Beth by questioning her motives for the potential LA job and is frank with Beth.
CHADWICK
Chadwick is one of Eric's closest friends. He is a thoughtful, mature, and composed friend who always knows the right thing to say at the right time. However, Chadwick is not averse to putting people in their place and considering alternate outcomes.
PROFESSOR MORANTZ
Prof. Morantz is Beth's mentor. Beth met Prof. Morantz during her time in graduate school and has since been garnering her advice and wisdom of the LA community and culture. Prof. Morantz has an eccentric and quirky attitude towards life and has worldly cosmopolitan views. Prof. Morantz is Beth's connection and advocate for the casting assistant job in LA and is eager to know more about Beth's decision.
