Sometimes we never really know how one choice can lead to a series of events, do we? We
don’t take the time to acknowledge how the little choices we make every day contribute to
the bigger picture. We live our lives planning out our day or sometimes we wing it. Trying to
be spontaneous, but either way, both directions are choices we make that contribute to the big
question “What Next?” It is amazing to think that we live our lives with certain expectations,
sometimes not paying attention to the external and internal factors that influence our
decisions. That inside voice or our mom who has been a voice in our ear, or that friend who
has always got your back.
Which one will it be? Will we take that road or turn around? Will we just sit here and let it
happen, or will we get out and do something? We are never given any instructions, so it is a
leap of faith. As a matter of fact, the choices we make are so important, that they affect our lives and how we live it. The small choices we make every day have a
direct impact on our lives. We choose to eat, or not. We choose to go to sleep or stay awake.
We choose to wear what we like or dress to fit in. We choose to go to a party or stay home
alone. We choose to go to work or stay home. We choose to do what we want or what others
want for us. We choose to be friendly or we choose to be unfriendly. We choose to love, or
we choose to hate. We choose to be positive, or we choose to be negative. As time goes by
and we pass through different experiences we begin to understand the ripple effect of our
choices, good or bad. Sometimes whether we like it or not our choices lead us to the lives we
have now. Whether we choose or not we are always influenced by our choices, so we must
choose wisely. Sometimes we try to think we know what is best for the ones we love not
giving them the benefit of the doubt that they know what is best for them! leading us to make
different choices for them and most times with good intentions behind it. We may end up
causing more damage by not knowing what is truly best for them. Sometimes when we make
bad choices, we pay the price and must learn from it while also learning to live with it.
